Published on 12 August 2019

The Cosmetics working group again engaged the National Agency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM) on 18 July 2019. BPOM in this meeting was represented by Mr. Tepy Usia, Director for Standardization of Traditional Medicine, Health Supplement, and Cosmetics who exchanged views with the group on activities that need to be taken as a follow up of the previous joint discussion on cosmetic claim. The meeting also intended to get updates on latest status of few draft regulations by BPOM. During the meeting, the working group acquire much needed information as well as clarifications regarding the implementation of 2D barcode in cosmetics products, halal and non-halal label, and contamination of cosmetics products. Few feedbacks are given by the group to BPOM and overall BPOM seems happy to receive feedback and recommendations from the working group.
