BPOM Socialization Event on BPOM Regulation No. 19 of 2022 on Guidelines of Health Supplement Claims

EuroCham attended the socialization held by the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) on Regulation No. 19 of 2022 regarding guidance for health supplement claims. The socialization was led by Rachmi Setyorini, Director of Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements and Cosmetics.

BPOM Regulation No. 19 of 2022 is to implement Law No. 11 of 2020, Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 and BPOM Regulation No. 10 of 2021 concerning Risk-Based Business Licensing for the Drug and Food Sector.

This regulation offers convenience for business actors in providing legal certainty and a clearer guide in terms of submitting claims for health supplement products and supporting data that must be completed in the context of preparing health supplement registration requirements.

Tobacco WG Meeting

On 23 September, the Tobacco Working Group held its first offline meeting at EuroCham Office. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Tobacco Working Group, Andre Setiawan (Head of Fiscal Affairs Japan Tobacco Industry), as well as the Board Patron of the Tobacco Working Group, Wichard von Harrach (President Director Jawa Power). The meeting highlighted several key issues affecting the sector including excise and e-cigarette policy, as well plans for future collaborations with relevant stakeholders on illicit product distribution.

Additionally, Andre Setiawan announced his decision to relinquish his position as Head, which will be replaced by Anita Eka Lestari (Manager of Fiscal Affairs HM Sampoerna). We would like to thank Andre Setiawan for chairing the meeting and Working Group throughout his tenure. We would also like to congratulate Anita Lestari, as the newly appointed Head, and Eka Tangkere as the Deputy Head.
