At this year’s prestigious national competition of the Indonesia Best Electricity Award (IBEA), Siemens is named the Best Digital Technology Electricity Company. This category honors company with contribution in providing digital-based technology products and solutions to support the efforts of the Government of Indonesia to provide sustainable supply of electricity to all. Siemens was also among the top five finalists nominated for the Best Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Company for its support to local business network and rich experience in Indonesia’s EPC projects.

The award is organized by Listrik Indonesia and endorsed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, National Energy Council, and state power utility PLN. The panel of judges consisted of prominent figures in power and electricity sector such as former Director General of Electricity, former CEO and directors of PLN, academicians, and board members of the National Energy Council.

“Siemens has been recognized as the leader in the Electricity sector. We combine all the expertise necessary including digitizing our solutions from power generation, transmission, distribution, smart grid and services to ensure sustainable, clean and efficient energy supply now and in the future. We hope this appreciation will inspire us further to serve our customers better in the future,” stated Krisman Sihombing, Head of Sales for Transmission Solution, PT Siemens Indonesia.

Substations are integral components of power grids. They connect grids of differing voltage levels. Siemens is making them digital and preparing them for the future. Only through digitalization it will be possible to master the transformation to a multidirectional energy system. The Siemens’ Digital Substation based on SIPROTEC Process Bus offers reliable protection and seamless connection between primary technology and grid control technology. “The technology has been applied in many

PLN’s substation facilities in Indonesia,” Krisman added.
