As a follow up from the previous year’s success, EuroCham once again commissioned the annual Business Confidence Index, which gathers information and opinion from European business operating in Indonesia. Managed by BritCham, the Business Confidence Index highlights the overall sentiment from European business towards Indonesia’s policy, business climate, investment, and so forth.

The Business Confidence Index shows a strong level of confidence in the long-awaited investment in infrastructure projects. In addition, the report also shows that businesses believe that the government is ready to act in more positive ways to support the pitch for FDI – this should translate to tangible improvements with regards the regulatory. Lastly, more than one-third of businesses domiciled in Indonesia are poised to make further significant investment over the next two years and possibly outside of Greater Jakarta.

Development of CEPA Paper

Published on 06 March 2017

Representing the voice of European businesses in Indonesia, EuroCham is fully supporting the continuous process of CEPA negotiation between the EU and Indonesia. To further embrace and support the ongoing rounds, EuroCham is currently preparing Paper to inputs and recommendations businesses to be considered by the EU negotiators.

Topics covered under the Paper correspond with all 16 chapters under the future CEPA, including trade in goods, trade in services, trade remedies, and intellectual property. EuroCham has collected valuable and significant inputs from the working groups and member companies to be included under the Paper. We are expecting to conclude the final draft of the Paper before the next negotiation round takes place in Brussels in September 2017.
