Eurocham and KADIN-Apindo Submitted CEPA Joint Recommendation to VP Kalla

After thorough and elaborative discussion between EuroCham and KADIN-Apindo, the Joint Recommendation for CEPA Negotiation from business perspective has been submitted to both Indonesian Government and the EU Representatives.

Handed over in Brussels on 9 October 2017, the Joint Recommendation consists of various concerns and suggestions from both European and Indonesian businesses, in order to help the negotiators in determining provisions under the CEPA.

Represented by Chairman Mr. Ulf Backlund, EuroCham asserted the importance of CEPA that will help increase trade and investment between the EU and Indonesia. Furthermore, Mrs. Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, who represented KADIN-Apindo, said that the recommendation is important to help both sides in understanding real business condition.

The 4th round of CEPA Negotiation will be held in Indonesia, either in late January or early February. This round will follow up the latest round in Brussels, in which both sides have showed positive progression towards the free trade agreement.
