Published on 3 November 2020

On 16 October 2020, EuroCham conducted a meeting with the Directorate General of Resilience, Territory, and International Industrial Access (KPAII) of the Ministry of Industry. During the meeting, EuroCham asked for the Ministry of Industry’s support to help accelerate the import process of Complementary Goods, Goods for Market Test, and After-sales products as regulated by the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 59 of 2020 and the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 118/M-DAG/PER/12/2015. EuroCham was represented at the meeting by representatives of several companies from various sectors, which were led by the Head and Deputy Head of EuroCham Import-Export Procedure Working Group, Rachmat Hidayat (Danone-Aqua), and Prita Hapsari (Unilever Indonesia) respectively. At the conclusion of this meeting, the Ministry of Industry indicated that they welcome further inputs to be submitted in writing and supported by the list of HS Codes of goods wherein importation continues to be challenging. It is hoped that based on these inputs, both the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade can further improve the online application system for the purpose of the issuance of Import Approvals.
