On 30 April 2020, the EU Delegation in Jakarta invited members of EuroCham Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group to a webinar discussion on Halal Assurance Guidelines. The EU Delegation is currently drafting a Guideline for businesses with the assistance from the the EU-Indonesia Partnership and Co-operation Agreement Facility (PCA-F) which explains about Halal Product certification. The purpose of the meeting is improve the draft of the guidelines as well as to learn from EuroCham members about the implementation of Halal Certification process in practice as well as its challenges that commonly occur. The meeting was very fruitful and gather lots of inputs as well as updates given by the member of the working group.

Continuing the collaboration with Center for Law and Policy Studies (PSHK), EuroCham once again was invited as a guest lecturer at Jentera Law School on 14 April 2020, to share experience about advocacy efforts that are conducted by the private sector. The lecture is part of the Public Policy Advocacy Course from Jentera that is open for public enrollment, and mainly consist of professionals in the field of advocacy, from unicorn company to the grass root civil society organization. Lecture given was more into sharing about the general steps taken in the policy advocacy, particularly by EuroCham in actual advocacy efforts to address certain issues in the past, to give real picture of advocacy world to complete the theoretical teaching that the students had received.

EuroCham welcomes the opportunity for sharing, and emphasized the needs for strong research to see different angles in analyzing a specific situation, the importance of stakeholders mapping, as well as choosing an efficient channel of advocacy in conveying the concerns with appropriate way of communications.
