Presentation of Study on the Deepening of Potential and Readiness of The Insurance Industry Market

On Tuesday, 10 March 2020 EuroCham was invited by the Fiscal Policy Agency to a session that shared the outcome of study conducted by the Institute for Economic and Community Research, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI). The study aims to highlight the Potential to Deepen the Sharia Insurance Industry Market and Readiness in Facing Business Unit Spin-offs. This study analyzed the capital capacity of the insurance industry in general, also how big the spillover effect of the amount of foreign investment. This study also equipped with an analysis of the overall readiness of the life insurance industry to conduct separation of the Sharia Business Unit in 2024 as required by Article 87 of Law No. 40 of 2014 on Insurance. The study is the result of collaboration with PT Asuransi Prudential Indonesia with the research institution, as well as endorsed by few organizations including EuroCham Indonesia.

ASEAN Safe, Nutritious Food Public Private Partnership Initiative Workshop

CropLife Asia, EU-ASEAN Business Council, and US-ASEAN Business Council collaborated in the organization of ASEAN Safe, Nutritious Food Public Private Partnership Initiative Workshop on 25 February 2020 at Ritz-Carlton Jakarta. Few EuroCham member companies including BASF Indonesia and Syngenta Indonesia supported the event by speaking in the panel discussion. Agus Ciputra, President Director of BASF Indonesia spoke on farmer’s ability to safely grow and nutritious food. Mirna Mutiara, Business Sustainability Manager of Syngenta Indonesia also shared her perspective on how Syngenta’s products and training programs for farmers could help addressed climate change challenges.
