Conveying Business Concerns to the Minister of Industry of Indonesia

EuroCham brought issues on Draft Bill of Water Resources along with Draft of Government Regulation on Food Label and Advertisement (RPP Label dan Iklan Pangan). The meeting is part of EuroCham Advocacy Road Show to convey business views in regards to the Draft Bill of Water Resources. This meeting is part of the joint advocacy with other International Chamber of Commerce, namely US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), American Chamber (AmCham), Jakarta Japan Chamber (JJC), and Indonesia-Australia Business Chamber (IABC). Prior to meeting the Minister of Industry, EuroCham has met with Presidential Advisory Council and BKPM on July 2017.

The delegation was received by the Minister of Industry, H.E. Airlangga Hartarto accompanied by Director General of Endurance and Development of International Industrial Access (KPAII), Head of Legal and Organizational Affairs Bureau, Director of Beverages, Tobacco and Fresheners Industry, and Head of Agency for Industrial Research and Development (BPPI). The Minister welcomed the delegation and accepted the concerns. To follow up, the Minister proposed for EuroCham to conduct further dialogue with the Parliament as the initiator of the draft Bill of Water Resources.

On the meeting, the delegation conveyed their concerns regarding the draft Bill on Water Resources and request for the support from the Ministry of Industry for the businesses. The Minister welcomed the delegation and accepted the concerns stated by delegation although the Minister said that He has not received any update from the Parliament as the draft is still being discussed by the Parliament.
