Unilever X Katadata: Collaboration and Action for Future Sustainability
Amidst the problems the world is facing — in terms of health, economy, social inequality, and the environment — the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is becoming an increasingly challenging matter. This is what underlies Unilever Indonesia to hold a webinar entitled, “Sustainability Day: Collaboration and Action for a Sustainable Future.” The event was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Unilever Indonesia Foundation. This webinar embraces various society elements from the Government, the private sector, academics, and the community to formulate synergistic steps to ensure that sustainable development can continue to be realized.
Ira Noviarti, Director of Unilever Indonesia, said that, “As a company built on a noble purpose, Unilever, which has been in Indonesia for nearly 87 years, is committed to continuing to play its role in helping the achievement of SDGs in Indonesia by implementing a business that prioritizes the principles of sustainability. We apply these principles throughout our value chain, from ensuring a sustainable and responsible supply to post-use by our consumers.“
Unilever’s commitment to global sustainability is apparent and measurable since the launch of the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) strategy in 2010, with three main objectives: improving the health and well-being of more than one billion people; halving the environmental footprint resulting from the manufacture and use of Unilever products; and improve the livelihoods of millions of people as their business grows.
