IP Socialization Event on the Patent Law with the DGIP

The EuroCham Intellectual Property Sub-Working Group convened a discussion titled “Patent Law Socialization: Developments and Business Implications” on 6 May 2025.
The session was opened by Kin-Wah Chow (Principal, Rouse) and Head of the IP Sub-Working Group, followed by a keynote address delivered by Ika Ahyani Kurniawati, S.H., LL.M., Director of Information Technology, representing the Director General of Intellectual Property, Ir. Razuli, M.Si.
A moderated discussion ensued featuring Dr. Lily Evelina Sitorus, S.H., M.Si, Head of Sub-Directorate for Facilitation of the Patent Appeal Commission, moderated by Audist Subekti, PhD (Director of Market & Government Affairs Indonesia & Malaysia, Head of Compliance & Ethics Indonesia, 3M).
The discussion highlighted key changes introduced under Law No. 65 of 2024 on Patents, examining their implications for multinational companies, efforts to foster innovation, and developments in patent filing and procedural processes.

Discussion of EuroCham's Response to the Revision of Government Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing

On the 2nd of May, EuroCham held a follow-up meeting with the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs regarding EuroCham input on the Revision of Government Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.
The meeting was led by Ichsan Zulkarnain (Assistant Deputy for Investment Acceleration and Downstreaming) from the CMEA side and Vera Galuh Sugijanto (Board Member of EuroCham and VP General Secretary of Danone).
The meeting allowed EuroCham members to restate their concerns towards the revision and gave the opportunity from CMEA to address the concerns. CMEA also invited representatives from the related ministries to the meeting.
