This year, Mercedes-Benz is proud to celebrate its 50 years presence in Indonesia. This journey began on 8 October 1970 when Star Motors Indonesia, a joint venture company between Daimler-Benz AG and PT Gading Mas, was inaugurated as the sole agent for the Daimler-Benz product brand in Indonesia. For 50 years, Mercedes-Benz has successfully met customer demand for luxury cars. Today, Mercedes-Benz offers a series of attractive line-ups in the luxury segment in Indonesia, from the compact cars, sedans, SUVs and vans to Dream Cars such as coupés, cabriolets and high-performance AMG models. Starting the 50 Years of Success celebration, Mercedes-Benz has donated a replica of the world's first car, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen to the National Museum of Indonesia in February 2020. This motor vehicle was the precursor to the first motorized vehicle in Indonesia, the Benz Victoria Phaeton 1894, which belongs to the Sultan of Surakarta (or Solo) Pakoe Boewono X. “We are very proud to celebrate our 50 years presence in Indonesia. As a pioneer of mobility in Indonesia, Mercedes-Benz has achieved many achievements during its presence.
