On 16 July, members of EuroCham’s Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Healthcare Working Groups had the opportunity to engage in a constructive dialogue with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs to discuss recent developments and ongoing challenges related to the availability of industrial salt.
We sincerely thank Bapak Bara Hasibuan (Expert Staff for Digital Transformation & Inter-Institutional Relations) and Bapak Dandy Satria Iswara (Deputy for Coordination of Maritime Resources) for their active participation and for sharing valuable insights into the government’s efforts to achieve salt self-sufficiency.
During the discussion, EuroCham members reiterated their support for the development of Indonesia’s salt industry while emphasizing the importance of maintaining a stable supply of industrial salt for strategic sectors such as food and beverage and cosmetics, as well as critical sectors like pharmaceuticals and medical devices, ensuring continued public access to essential healthcare products.
We extend our gratitude to the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs for facilitating this important dialogue and look forward to continued collaboration in support of national goals and industry needs.
