Indonesia-EU CEPA Roadshow and Business Forum East Kalimantan

The Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) Roadshow and Business Forum in East Kalimantan was conducted in a hybrid form on 26 October 2021. The event shared valuable information on the on-going negotiations as well as the benefits and opportunities potentially gained by both sides from the free-trade agreement.

The event was opened by H.E Vincent Piket (Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam), who presented his remarks about EU's commitments to support Indonesia's trade opportunities and the sustainable development goals, along with Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti (Deputy for Economic Affairs from the Ministry of National Development Planning or Bappenas) and H.E Isran Noor (the Governor of East Kalimantan Province).

Panelists in the discussion comprised of Marika Jakas (Trade Counsellor from the EU Delegation), who provided insights on the structures of IEU CEPA; Gustaaf Reerink (Executive Board Member of EuroCham), who addressed the viewpoint of European business investment in Indonesia; and Hernie Raharja (Executive Board Member of EuroCham), who conveyed EuroCham members involvement in SDG projects. Other notable panelists included: Lusyana Halmiati (Ministry of Trade), Anne Sutanto (KADIN Indonesia), Thierry Beranger (European Commission's Directorate General of Trade), Pujuh Harjanto, (DPMPTSP East Kalimantan), and Dayang Donna Faroek (KADIN East Kalimantan).
