Regional Workshop on Exchange Policy Information of Mechanisms and Regulations of the Foreign Workers Arrangement amongst the ASEAN Member States, including Asia Pacific States

On 15th of February, EuroCham Indonesia was cordially invited by the Directorate of Foreign Workers Utilization Control of the Ministry of Manpower (Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan Republik Indonesia). In this meeting, EuroCham was represented by the Deputy Head of the Human Resources Working Group, Sylviawati Tanuwikarta (Human Resources Manager at Siemens) and also attended by Stephen Igor Warokka (Partner at SSEK Law Firm), and several other foreign chambers were also present.

All the participants welcomed the joint collaboration opportunity at the ministry’s upcoming regional workshop on foreign workers’ arrangements policy exchange across ASEAN and the Asia Pacific. Through this courtesy meeting, EuroCham hopes to have a strengthened relationship with the Ministry of Manpower and improved bureaucracy for foreign worker utilization in Indonesia.

The 4th Edition EuroCham Contributions to SDGs Report Launch - Sustainability Business Forum: Charting Paths for Economic Resiliency

The European Business Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (EuroCham) successfully hosted its flagship event, the Sustainable Development Goals Report Launch, with the theme 'Sustainability Business Forum: Charting Paths for Climate Resilience,' on 6 February 2024 at Ayana Midplaza Jakarta.

The EuroCham Sustainable Development Goals Report Launch is an annual event that serves as a platform to highlight and celebrate the sustainable efforts and achievements of EuroCham members, providing insights into the strides made by EuroCham members in contributing to sustainable development and addressing key environmental challenges.

The event commenced with Francois de Maricourt (Chairman of EuroCham) delivering his opening remarks, and Karyanto Wibowo (Head of Sustainable Development Working Group) presented the result of the report.

EuroCham was honored to have Pak Edi Prio Pambudi (Deputy Minister for International Economic Cooperation of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia) as keynote speaker at the SDGs Report Launch. During the keynote speech, Pak Edi stated that Indonesia has set out a series of ambitious policies addressing the pressing challenges of climate change. The theme of the forum, 'Charting Paths for Climate Resilience,' aligns well with Indonesia’s current efforts to respond to the impacts of climate change and strengthen collective actions through public-private and inter-generational partnerships.

EuroCham would also like to express deepest gratitude to the panelists: Rosy Wedyawati (Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Republic of Indonesia), Angella Faith (Lapukeni) Montfaucon, Ph.D. (Economist at The World Bank), Melanie Masriel (Chief of Corporate Affairs, Engagement & Sustainability at L'Oréal), and Hedi Santoso (Prescription and Government Relations Director at Schneider Electric). The panel discussion was moderated by Naritalia Panjaitan (Principal Consultant at ERM), and Nurdiana Darus (Board Member of EuroCham) for the closing remarks.
