Brainstorming on the Drafting the Regulation for Traditional Medicines, Health Supplement, and Cosmetics for year 2026
On 13 January 2026, EuroCham was invited to attend the Brainstorming Session on the 2026 Regulatory Drafting Plan organized by the Directorate of Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics (OTSKK) of the Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan. The event was attended by representatives from industry associations, ministries/agencies, as well as business actors from the traditional medicine (OBA), health supplement, quasi-drug, and cosmetics sectors. The session aimed to gather initial input to ensure that the 2026 regulations are developed in a responsive, harmonized, and implementable manner, while minimizing repeated revisions through more robust public consultations from the early planning stage.
The event was opened by Deputy II of BPOM, M. Kashuri, who emphasized the importance of Good Regulatory Practices (GRP) and maintaining a balance between consumer protection and industry competitiveness. During the forum, BPOM presented its 2025 regulatory achievements and outlined 19 priority regulations planned for 2026, while also receiving various inputs from business stakeholders regarding KBLI–OSS alignment, claim evaluations, the planned Good Distribution Practices for Cosmetics (CDKB), as well as the supervision of illegal products and digital channels.
