Market Access is the result of the consolidation of two previous working groups, which are the Import-Export Procedures and Transport & Logistics working groups. Despite merging, the two former working groups continue to operate as sub-working groups within the Market Access working group framework. The diverse nature of the working group made it one of the biggest working groups in EuroCham in terms of membership.
The Market Access Working Group comprises transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, express-delivery services, shipping lines, airlines, producers, and manufacturers. In essence, the working group covers companies that undertake import-export activities in order to support their businesses.
The Working Group promotes an open and constructive dialogue with policymakers within the Indonesian government, as well as with relevant stakeholders and associations operating in the transportation, logistics, and import-export sectors, to continuously explore possibilities for further improvement within these various sectors. The overarching goal of the Market Access Working Group is to bolster Indonesia's competitiveness as an investment hub and enhance the business environment in the country.
The topics addressed by the working group are crucial for the functioning of businesses in the country. These topics cover import restrictions, import provisions, commodity balances, taxation for the freight forwarding industry, the Indonesian National Standard, and the Indonesian National Single Window. The Market Access Working Group is a very dynamic and complex working group due to its broad nature and the important topic it addresses.
