Chemical WG Meeting with P3DN Ministry of Industry

On January 14, the Chemical Working Group held a meeting on the implementation of Local Content Requirements in the chemical industry sector. We were honored to welcome Mr. Heru Kustanto, Head of the Center for Domestic Product Acceleration (P3DN), Kementerian Perindustrian Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Industry), as the guest speaker. The meeting was opened with welcoming remarks by Inezia Aurelia, Head of the Chemical Working Group and Head of Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance SEA at Merck Chemicals & Life Sciences.

The meeting outlined the government’s latest regulation, Minister of Industry Regulation No. 35 of 2025. Discussions covered the implementation of local content requirements in the chemical industry sector, current challenges, government support, as well as opportunities and incentives for companies operating in Indonesia, especially those with manufacturing facilities established domestically.

The Chemical Working Group reiterates its commitment to providing a platform for constructive dialogue on industrialization in the chemical sector, with the aim of strengthening Indonesia’s economy through local manufacturing and the absorption of the local workforce.
