Coordinating Ministry of Political & Security Affairs Coordination and Synchronization Meeting on Policies on Granting Access to Electronic Systems and/or Electronic Data
On 24 September 2025, EuroCham participated in the Coordination and Synchronization Meeting on Policy for Granting Access to Electronic Systems and/or Electronic Data for the Purposes of Supervision and Law Enforcement, organized in the context of the planned revision of Government Regulation No. 71 of 2019 on the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions (PSTE). The meeting was hosted by the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs of Indonesia.
The discussion was opened by Syaiful Garyadi (Assistant Deputy for Data Protection and Electronic Transactions) together with officials Dr. Irawati Tjipto Priyanti (Director of Enforcement, Ministry of Communications and Informatics at Ministry of Communications & Digital) and Muchtarul Huda (Director of Strategy and Policy for Digital Space Supervision at Ministry of Communications & Digital).
EuroCham was represented by Erik Santoso, Head of the ICT Sub-Working Group. EuroCham underlined the importance of establishing a robust data protection and cybersecurity framework to ensure industry readiness prior to the implementation of data localization requirements. He also emphasized the importance of incorporating industry perspectives into the policymaking process to ensure effective and practical implementation.
