Courtesy Meeting with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property
EuroCham Indonesia was pleased to visit the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), Kementerian Hukum Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Law), on 28 January 2026. The EuroCham delegation, led by Executive Board Member Donald Situmorang, engaged with DGIP to exchange views on recent developments in intellectual property enforcement and protection. The discussion covered developments in Indonesia’s intellectual property legal framework, as well as updates on the Indonesia–EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EU CEPA), particularly with regard to the Intellectual Property Chapter.
On behalf of Director General Hermansyah Siregar, EuroCham had the pleasure of exchanging views with Drs. Yasmon, M.L.S., Director of Cooperation, Empowerment, and Education; Dr. Fajar Sulaeman Taman, S.Sos., M.Si., M.IPLaw, Director of Trademarks and Geographical Indications; and Brigjen Pol. Arie Ardian Rishadi, S.I.K., M.Si., Director of Law Enforcement. The discussion focused on enforcement initiatives, including efforts to address IP infringements on e-commerce platforms, as well as broader regulatory and international cooperation developments.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for EuroCham members to share practical, on-the-ground industry perspectives on the implementation of intellectual property regulations and enforcement mechanisms. EuroCham remains committed to supporting the Government of Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen the intellectual property ecosystem, enhance legal certainty, and foster a fair and innovative business environment.
