Cross-border Data Flows in South-East Asia

On August 23, 2022, EuroCham was invited to a webinar entitled, “Regional Roundtable: Cross-border Data Flows in South-East Asia”, which was hosted by the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies (CIPS) in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS). EuroCham is pleased to participate in discussions with the speakers, Trustee and Teaching Fellow of Institute of Corporate Directors (Philippines), Imelda Tiongson, and President of Asian Vision Institute (Cambodia), Chheang Vannarith.

During this fruitful discussion, the speakers shared some insights on data flows from an open finance perspective and data privacy from a regional aspect. The event concluded with a Q&A discussion and recommendations on ASEAN’s data privacy regulatory frameworks.
