Published on 6 October 2026

EuroCham Indonesia Healthcare Working Group participated in a public consultation organized by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries on the Draft Regulation on Commodity Balance for Fisheries and Salt Commodities.

The consultation, presented by the Directorate General of Marine Management, discussed the proposed guidelines and procedures for determining and issuing commodity balance data for salt and fisheries commodities. Key issues included the assessment of domestic supply and demand, the availability and capacity of domestic suppliers, and how commodity balance data would inform the fulfillment of industrial needs, including the use of domestic products and potential import requirements.

Following the consultation, EuroCham gathered inputs from members in the food and beverage and healthcare sectors and submitted consolidated feedback to the Directorate General of Marine Management on 15 September.

EuroCham Healthcare Working Group will continue to monitor any new developments pertaining to this issue and will continue to advocate on behalf of our members
