Welcome
Energy Working Group
On 15 January 2019, EuroCham Energy Working Group was invited to a meeting by the Directorate General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The meeting aims to discuss EuroCham recommendations related with Minister Regulation 49 of 2018 on the Utilization of Rooftop Solar Power Generation Systems by the consumers of PT PLN as a State-Owned Electricity Company. The recommendations can be summarized as follows:
- To capture growth potential of industrial solar power generation, it is essential that the capacity charge provisions are waived for all PT PLN customers, including the industrial customers; or
- Provide a different calculation of capacity charges for industrial costumer that is more economically feasible to support the uptake of rooftop solar PV to reach their commitment of 100% renewable generated electricity; and
- Allowing industrial customers to install solar PV systems for self-consumption only without the option of feeding back to the grid and therefore parallel operation charges and/or capacity charges will not apply.
Attended on behalf of the group were Thomas Wagner, Miroslav Dijakovic, Christophe Comte, Bjoern Heindrich, and Andre Sutanto. While from the Indonesian counterpart welcoming the visit were Eri Nurcahyanto, Deputy Director for Electricity Pricing, accompanied by relevant staffs.
