EU-ABC EPR Roundtable

On 29 July 2025, EuroCham had the pleasure of joining the Indonesia Roundtable on “Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) & Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG),” jointly convened by the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and ASEAN-BAC at Le Meridien Jakarta. The roundtable served as a timely platform to discuss recent developments in Indonesia’s circular economy agenda and explore policy pathways to enhance competitiveness in the FMCG sector.

The roundtable opened with remarks by Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, who emphasized the urgency of aligning industry action with national sustainability goals. The discussion invited Bapak Ujang Sholihin Sidik, Directorate of Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment, who emphasized on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations to support circular economy targets in Indonesia and was moderated by Chris Humphrey, Executive Director of the EU-ASEAN Business Council. The session concluded with closing remarks by Lucia Karina, Executive Board Member of EuroCham and Director of Public Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) Indonesia, who reiterated the importance of cross-sector collaboration in building effective policies.
