EU Investment Desk Launch & Investment Dialogue: “The Future of EU–Indonesia Trade and Sustainable Investment”

EuroCham had the pleasure to participate in the launch of the EU Investment Desk under the theme of “Deepening EU-Indonesia Partnership for Sustainable Investment” that took place on 30 September at Nusantara Hall, Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming Industry.

The launching was kicked off by a panel discussion joined by Donald Situmorang (EuroCham Indonesia Executive Board Member and Strategy, Sustainability, and Government Relations Director at Schneider Electric Indonesia), Melanie Masriel (EuroCham Indonesia Executive Board Member and Chief of Corporate Affairs, Engagement, and Sustainability) as European business representatives, government officials from both parties, and academia. The panelists shared their perspectives on Indonesia’s FDI ecosystem and its potential in light of an enhanced economic relation with the EU.

Following the panel discussion, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Industry, Rosan Roeslani—in his keynote remarks—emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the investment climate for international partners. H.E. Denis Chaibi, EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, also highlighted the importance of the EU Investment Desk to foster the EU’s confidence in Indonesia’s potential.

EuroCham commends the launch of the EU Investment Desk for serving as an intermediary of economic and trade ties between Indonesia and the EU.
