EuroCham Indonesia - South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk Event on Tackling Counterfeit Goods in E-commerce

On February 11, 2026, the Information and Communications Technology & Intellectual Property (ICT-IP) Working Group of EuroCham Indonesia, in collaboration with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, organized a seminar on “Safeguarding Online Consumers: Practical Approaches to Tackle Counterfeit Goods in E-commerce.”

The event explored current challenges, regulatory developments, and practical enforcement strategies to combat counterfeit products circulating in online marketplaces, highlighting the roles of government, digital platforms, and rights holders in strengthening consumer protection.

The seminar was opened by Citra Tiara Permata Rizki (Head of the ICT-IP Working Group; Government Relations at Schneider Electric Indonesia). The keynote address, delivered by Dr. Andrieansjah, S.T., S.H., M.M. (Director of Patents, Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits and Trade Secrets at Direktorat Jenderal Kekayaan Intelektual (DGIP), Kementerian Hukum Republik Indonesia (Ministry of Law)), provided insights into Indonesia’s evolving IP enforcement framework, particularly the government’s initiatives to enhance digital IP protection and the implications of the newly enacted Minister of Law Regulation No. 47 of 2025.

Moderated by Seradesy S. (Chief Legal Officer at L'Oréal Indonesia), the panel discussion delved into cross-sector collaboration and practical mechanisms to detect, prevent, and take action against counterfeit goods in digital commerce ecosystems. The session featured expert insights from Ahmad Rifadi (Head of Enforcement and Investigation Sub-Directorate, DGIP), Dr. Ir. Irawati Tjipto Priyanti, S.T., M.T. (Director of Digital Investigations at Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia), Budi Primawan (Secretary General of the Asosiasi E-Commerce Indonesia (idEA)), and Lukman Hakim (IP Consultant at the SEA IP SME Helpdesk), each providing perspectives on enforcement trends, marketplace responsibilities, and technological tools available to rights holders.
