Launching Indo EBTKE ConEx 2026

Published on 20 April 2026

On 13th of March, EuroCham attended the launching of Indo EBTKE ConEx 2026, which shined a spotlight on Indonesia’s green energy investment opportunities and advocated for stronger government support to accelerate the adoption of renewables, particularly solar, across the country. Central to this effort is Masyarakat Konservasi dan Efisiensi Energi (MASKEEI), an organization focused on the demand side of the energy equation. Acting as a strategic partner to the government, MASKEEI advocates for efficient energy use across industry, transportation, buildings, and households, while also reviewing policies, regulations, and programs related to energy efficiency and conservation. Their work underscores a simple but powerful reality: with current fossil fuel prices, shifting to green energy is not only an environmental necessity but also the most economically sensible move. Indonesia has set ambitious national targets to match this momentum.

The goal is to reach 100 gigawatts from renewable energy sources, reinforcing a long‑term commitment to sustainability. Under the RUPTL 2025‑2034, 76% of new power plants will come from new and renewable energy—including nuclear and storage—supported by 4,118 planned programs. A total of 36 projects are scheduled to begin operations in 2026 under PLN, which has also committed to reducing emissions and achieving net zero by 2060. To turn these targets into reality, PLN is pursuing bold acceleration strategies. The “GIGA ONE” bundling approach for solar power plants (PLTS) is designed to fast‑track execution and improve project economics, signaling the need for breakthroughs in procurement processes.

We like to extend our appreciation to MASKEEI, along with PLN, for inviting EuroCham to this pivotal event. EuroCham will continue to advocate for sustainable approaches in Indonesia, especially supporting Indonesia’s net zero objective by 2060.
