Meeting with CMEA on Halal Implementation for Imported Goods

On the 12th of January, EuroCham engaged with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to discuss recent developments and the implementation of import supervision of halal goods. The discussion was led on behalf of EuroCham by Inezia Aurelia, Head of the Chemical Working Group and Head of Regulatory Management & Trade Compliance SEA at Merck Chemicals & Life Sciences. The meeting brought together EuroCham members from various sectors, including representatives from the Chemical Working Group, the Cosmetics Sub-Working Group, and the Agriculture, Food & Beverage Sub-Working Group. Participants engaged in an active exchange of views on challenges related to the implementation of halal certification requirements, while also gaining valuable insights from Pak Ekko on current policy developments

EuroCham members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Government’s objectives of strengthening consumer trust through halal implementation and advancing Indonesia’s vision as a global halal industry hub. The discussion also provided an opportunity for members to share practical, on-the-ground industry perspectives regarding the current implementation of halal regulations.

The meeting concluded with EuroCham members reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Government’s objectives of strengthening consumer trust through halal implementation and advancing Indonesia’s vision as a global halal industry hub
