On 14 October, representatives of AmCham Indonesia and EuroCham Indonesia were invited to meet with senior officials of the Indonesian Manpower Ministry at their office in Jakarta. The Chamber representatives met with Suhartono (Director General of Manpower Placement and Development and Work Opportunity Expansion/Dirjen Binapenta & PPK of the Ministry of Manpower), Haryanto (Director of Foreign Manpower Control and Utilization/Direktur PPTKA of the Ministry of Manpower), along with other officials. The meeting was meant as a courtesy call and to discuss the topic of the Ministry of Manpower No. 228 of 2019, regarding Certain Job Positions Available for Foreign Workers. EuroCham was represented at the meeting by the Deputy of the Human Resources Working Group, Rakhman Sapta Ferdinansyah, CHRP of TMF Group, and Christian Nathanael Silwanus from EuroCham’s Advocacy team.

EuroCham appreciates the Indonesian government's ongoing efforts to improve the business environment through policy reforms in the labor sector along with other initiatives. We believe that flexible and adaptive labor policies promote investment, which is critical for accelerating the country's economic recovery, and future economic growth.

EuroCham also extends its appreciation to the Ministry of Manpower, AmCham, and the other foreign chambers in Indonesia that collaborated in this advocacy effort.
