Meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture

Published on 1 December 2021

EuroCham Agriculture, Food and Beverages Working Group along with the EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group organized a virtual meeting with the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health of the Ministry of Agriculture on 24 November 2021. The meeting discussed several topics under the supervision of the directorate, namely Certification of Veterinary Control Number for Animal Product Business Unit, and Import Provision of Dairy and its Derivatives. This meeting was joined by several representatives from the Directorate of Veterinary Public Health, namely Endang Ekowati, Septa Walyani, and Apriyani.

The overall discussion was moderated by Rachmat Hidayat (Head of EuroCham Import-Export Procedures Working Group), to highlight the remaining challenges from the implementation of the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 11 of 2020, such as the certification process itself, labeling requirements, as well as alignment with other labeling requirements such as from BPOM, or Halal Labeling. The meeting provided members with the opportunity to also express their appreciation for the Indonesian government’s move to allow the import of dairy products and its derivatives from the EU. However, members also expressed their hope that the simplification of processes can continue to be carried out, especially within the regional government level.
