New Insight on The Business Environment In Indonesia: Exploring The World Bank's Business Ready Report

Published on 14 March 2025

On February 10th, EuroCham had the privilege of attending the World Bank’s launch of Business Ready (B-READY), their new flagship report replacing the former Doing Business Report. B-READY offers a more comprehensive and enhanced analysis of the global business landscape, evaluating 1,200 indicators that map the lifecycle of firms. This report serves as a critical tool for evidence-based policy reforms, paving the way for transforming Indonesia’s business environment and supporting its economic growth ambitions.

The event commenced with opening remarks from Carolyn Turk, Country Director for the World Bank Indonesia and Timor-Leste, followed by a welcome address by H.E Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry.

A key highlight of the event was the panel discussion titled “How Can Indonesia Reform for a Stronger Business Environment That Supports the Private Sector?” The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Ichsan Zulkarnaen (Assistant Deputy for Investment Acceleration and downstreaming Cooperation at Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs), Shinta Kamdani (Chairperson of Indonesian Employers Association - APINDO), Jose Rizal Damuri (Executive Director at Centre for Strategic and International Studies), and Chaikal Nuryakin (Director of Institute for Economics and Social Research at University of Indonesia).

We extend our warm congratulations to the World Bank for the successful launch of this insightful report and are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in this impactful event.
