Public Hearing on Mandatory Technical Specifications on Ready-made Clothing

On October 26th, EuroCham secretariat, alongside several EuroCham Retail members, attended an online Public Hearing on Mandatory Technical Specifications on Ready-made Clothing at the Ministry of Industry.

The ministry is still in the planning stage to introduce new mandatory standardization within the scope of industry standardization through Minister of Industry Regulation No. 45 in 2022. This is with the intention of enhancing consumer protection and establishing standardized requirements for the clothing industry. While the Ministry is still in the process of releasing the third draft, included in the regulation are Technical Specifications (ST) for Apparel, encompassing factors such as thread slip resistance, the strength of knitted seam stitching, pH levels, and flame resistance.
