The National Agency for Food and Drug Control’ Socialization on Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021
On 23 March 2021, the National Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) held a Socialization Event on Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing. The speakers at the event included, Ichsan Zulkarnaen, Ph.D (Assistant Deputy for Economic Competitiveness - Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs), Reghi Perdana, SH, LLM (Head of Legal and Organizational Bureau- BPOM), and Siti Romayah, S.Kom., M.M (Head of the Center for Data and Information Management – Investment Coordinating Board/BKPM) to highlight the key stipulations introduced by Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021.
Following the enactment of Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021, the relevant Ministries or Agencies must next prepare the supporting regulations (both in the form of regulations and technical guidelines). Therefore, the Deputy II of BPOM conducted a public consultation on the draft regulation on the Establishment of Business Activities and Product Standard in the implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing for the Drug and Food Sectors. The public consultation was held in order to collect inputs from business players and was chaired by the Director of Standardization for Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements and Cosmetics, Drh. Rachmi Setyorini, MKM.
