PURWAKARTA - PT East West Seed Indonesia (EWINDO) has contributed to reducing carbon emissions as announced by the government. The vegetable seed producer, Cap Panah Merah, is now officially operating a 752 kWp Roof Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at the factory complex and EWINDO's head office in Purwakarta. EWINDO Managing Director Glenn Pardede claims that this Rooftop PLTS can save energy from fossil fuels up to 1,059,868 kWh/year or equivalent to a reduction in Co2 emissions of 989,917 kg/year. The amount of CO2 production reduction is equivalent to preventing emissions from using 319,936 liters of gasoline every year or CO2 that is converted in the form of 12,420 10-year-old trees.
