Mercedes-Benz Indonesia Provides Support to the Local Community with the "Don't Give Up" Initiative

Published on 15 May 2020

The C0VID—1 9 coronavirus pandemic has created a huge impact on various aspects of our lives, especially from an economic aspect. As part of an effort and commitment to provide relief during these challenging times, employees of Mercedes—Benz Indonesia have enthusiastically showed their support with a donation to the local community as well as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, carried out from April 20 to May 4, 2020.

Via the “Don’t give up” initiative or “Geben Sie Nicht Auf” in German, Mercedes—Benz has donated and provided support to communities in the area of Mercedes—Benz Indonesia’s plant in Wanaherang, Bogor.

“With this initiative, we hope to inspire both companies and individuals to work together during these difficult times. We also hope that our support, in the form of daily necessities and health protection aids - such as washable masks, can help the communities to keep fighting together against the pandemic,” said Patrick Schwind, President Director, PT Mercedes—Benz Indonesia.

Committed to its social responsibility during these times, Mercedes—Benz has supported medical personnel and affected people in carrying out various activities. In April 2020, the provision of the Sprinter Van was donated to the Emergency Ambulance Service in Jakarta and now donations by employees combined with CSR activities support local communities.

“We hope that this initiative can bring relief to the community near the Mercedes—Benz plant in Wanaherang, Bogor. This “Don’t give up” social initiative was driven by our employees and is our way to support and show our responsibility towards the local community,” Patrick Schwind concluded.
