Multi-stakeholders Dialogue on Business and Human Rights Series XIII

On Tuesday, 07 September 2021, EuroCham was invited as a speaker at the Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Business and Human Rights Series XIII organized by the Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN). The event highlighted the topic of "10 Years Progress and Challenges on Business and Human Rights in Private Sectors - New EU Mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence: What Are the Consequences?". Representing EuroCham, Baudouin Coomans (Deputy of EuroCham Sustainable Development Working Group), served as one of the speakers to share perspectives from European business players in Indonesia regarding how European companies in Indonesia continue to uphold human rights aspects in their business practices, and its readiness to comply with the development of business policies and human rights in Indonesia.

The webinar was moderated by Y.W. Junardy (President of Indonesia Global Compact Network - IGCN), who also presented a number of speakers from various backgrounds to enrich the discussion, namely Hajerati (SH, MH, Director of Human Rights Cooperation, Ministry of Law and Human Rights), Achsanul Habib (Director for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Hariyadi B Sukamdani (Chairman, APINDO) and discussants namely Iman Prihandono (Dean of the Faculty of Law from Airlangga University) and Muhammad Busyrol Fuad (Advocacy Manager of the Institute for Policy Research and Advocacy - ELSAM).
