Danone-AQUA inaugurated PLTS Roof with a capacity of 2,112 kWp at the Mekarsari factory which is claimed to be the largest Danone-AQUA factory in Indonesia. This Rooftop PLTS is capable of generating electricity of 2.3 GWh per year, and reducing 1,916 tons of CO2 per year. The installation of the Mekarsari Rooftop PLTS is part of Danone-AQUA's commitment to support the Government of Indonesia in achieving its Zero Emissions ambition by 2060, increasing the new renewable energy mix to 23 percent by 2025, as well as the West Java Provincial Government's efforts to increase the implementation of new renewable energy to 6, 8 GW by 2025.
Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia said, Danone-AQUA is a pioneer in the use of PLTS Roofs in the domestic industry since 2017. "Efforts to support the Government of Indonesia in accelerating the transition to the use of renewable energy in Indonesia are a manifestation of Danone-AQUA's commitment to become a Zero Emissions or Carbon Neutral company in the company's entire supply chain by 2050.
