Unilever Indonesia signs MoU with the Ministry of Education, Culture Research, & Technology
On the 24th of August, PT Unilever Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research & Technology to continue its cooperation on boosting quality human capital, promoting health welfare, as well as improving self-potential in students’ learning environment. This effort serves as an “Educational Program & Islamic Boarding Program” incentives, which Unilever Indonesia has consistently carried out since 2016 and reached up to 12 million children in approximately 49,000 boarding schools in 34 provinces.
Enny Hartati Sampurno, Director of Unilever Indonesia, expressed that priority be given to improve the health and welfare of communities in line with Unilever’s pillar of ‘The Unilever Compass’, that aims to train and acquaint children with the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). The program seeks to facilitate schools and arrange trainings, targeting 1.9 million children and 11,000 schools in 2022.
Indonesia’s Education Minister, Nadiem Makarim, agrees the need for schools to gain expertise on PHBS, balanced nutritional intake, and exercise in an active role to prevent disease and creating a healthy society. Furthermore, the signing of the MoU strengthens collaboration with Unilever to conduct scientific research and development, thereby bringing positive impact towards society.
