Unilever Introduces Refill Station as a Greener Alternative to Shopping

Published on 2 March 2020

As a tangible form of its commitment to be part of the solution to the waste problem, on 25 February 2020, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk. has introduced its first “Refill Station”, located at the Saruga Package-free Shopping Store, Bintaro. Presented during the 2020 National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) commemorations, this project is one of the company's efforts to support the Indonesian government’s efforts to realize its “Indonesia Plastic Pollution Free by 2040” goal.

Nowadays, consumers in various parts of the world want to play a role in preserving the environment. Therefore, the presence of bulk stores or pack-free stores is no longer a trend, but a necessity. Currently there are at least 24 bulk stores in Indonesia, one of which is Saruga. Starting from mid-March 2020, Saruga Package-free Shopping Store located in Bintaro Sector 1, will provide a series of Unilever Indonesia brands such as Rinso, Molto, Sunlight, Superpell, Lifebuoy, Clear, Dove, Sunsilk, TRESemmé, Love Beauty and Planet, and Bango. To shop, consumers can simply come to the store with their own packaging to be refilled.
