Frisian Flag Indonesia Provides 4,566 Milk Boxes at Healthy Breakfast Campaign
PT Frisian Flag Indonesia (FFI) carried out the program to bring nutritious food again. This time collaborating with Foodbank of Indonesia (FOI) to create the 1000 Mothers Action program “The Mobile Breakfast Movement”. The aim of the action is to fight hunger in children and encourage children to eat a balanced, nutritious breakfast. The action coincided with the World Food Day with a target of more than 1,500 PAUD students in Jakarta, Depok and Tangerang.
The collaboration program was held after looking at the Total Diet Survey (SDT) data from the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020 that as many as 66.8% of children had breakfast with low nutritional quality or their nutritional needs had not been met, especially vitamin and mineral intake. It is hoped that the campaign will enable Indonesian families to adopt a healthy lifestyle by having a regular breakfast complete with milk in the morning as part of a balanced nutritional pattern.
Andrew F Saputro, Corporate Affairs Director of Frisian Flag Indonesia, said that Frisian Flag Indonesia is always committed to providing benefits for the community through improving nutrition and creating a healthy lifestyle, one of which is by providing dairy products in the children's breakfast menu. “The collaboration between FFI and FOI Connection is to strengthen the commitment to provide better nutrition, especially for children's breakfast,” he said in a statement.
Danone-AQUA Collaborates with Government & UNDP Launches GRADASI Program
As a part of the efforts made to continue strengthening commitments in reducing and managing plastic waste, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the National Coordination Team for Marine Waste Management (TKN PSL), Danone-AQUA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in support of the Alms Movement program. and the Indonesian Waste Collection (GRADASI) which coincided with the launch of the program in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. The signing of this memorandum of understanding was also witnessed directly by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Government of West Manggarai Regency.
There is a similarity in the vision and mission of GRADASI with the #BijakBerplastik commitment launched by Danone-AQUA since 2018 to tackle the problem of plastic waste in Indonesia. Related to this, Karyanto Wibowo, Sustainable Development Director of Danone Indonesia, said that the purpose of this cross-sector collaboration is to change people's behavior in reducing, managing, and sorting waste through the application of a religious approach as a circular economy driver.
GRADASI is an effort to educate houses of worship in managing waste. This program helps the administrators of houses of worship collect community plastic waste and facilitates access to the waste bank that is close to the house of worship.
All the waste that has been collected and managed by Danone-AQUA partners in various regions, including Labuan Bajo, is then recycled back into raw material for packaging new bottles or other valuable goods. For Labuan Bajo, the waste collected through the GRADASI program will be managed by the Kole Project, which is a local partner of Danone-AQUA.
