Ministry of Industry Appoints HM Sampoerna to be one of the pilot industries for health protocols implementation
PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) was appointed by the Ministry of Industry (MoI) to be one of the pilot industries for health protocols implementation. This appointment makes Sampoerna one of the companies undergoing a trial of industries to operate at full capacity during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Head of Sampoerna Factory, Markus Hosea stated, “This strengthens our commitment to improve supervision and ensure compliance with applicable regulations in all production facilities and company operations.”
In order to observe the readiness of the trial, Putu Juli Ardika (Acting Director General of Agro Industry, MoI) had the opportunity to inspect Sampoerna’s production facilities in Rungkut Industrial area, Surabaya. Sampoerna is considered to be consistent in implementing the standard health protocols for the industry as well as meeting the trial criteria for essential industries that can fully operate during the pandemic. Sampoerna has administered at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination for nearly 100% of its employees and the production facilities observe strict health protocols and are also equipped with facilities for conducting antigen and PCR swab tests, supported by medical personnel. Moreover, Sampoerna also applies self-assessment regulation for employees prior to coming to work as well as mechanisms that facilitate physical distancing and tracing efforts.
Merck Distributes Ambulance and Medical Devices Assistance to Support the Government in Handling the Second Wave of COVID-19
Merck, a science and technology company, on August 13, announced donation support in the form of 1 ambulance and medical equipment (alkes) in the form of 100 oxygen concentrators with a total grant value of IDR 2.4 billion, to support the Covid-19 response in Indonesia. The assistance was handed over by Merck Indonesia's Country Speaker and Chief Financial Officer, Bambang Nurcahyo to the Ministry of Health, represented by the Head of the Health Crisis Center, Ministry of Health, Dr. dr. Eka Jusup Singka, M.Sc at the office of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (13/8).
This assistance is a continuation of support from the Merck Group, which last year provided donations in the form of research equipment and materials to support the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in accelerating vaccine research in Indonesia, as well as donations of PPE for health workers in 34 hospitals distributed through NGO partners.
