Company Visit to Danone

Published on 6 November 2024

On September 19, EuroCham Indonesia was delighted to be invited to a site visit in Bali hosted by Danone Indonesia, a platinum member of EuroCham. The visit began with a tour to the Mambal Factory, which was led by Nyoman Arsana (Stakeholders Relations of PT TIRTA INVESTAMA) and had the opportunity to view the production process of Aqua bottles as well as their initiative on renewable energy.

The tour proceeded to the infiltration well for water preservation efforts at Sangeh. We had the chance to learn how the infiltration well maintains the stability of groundwater table by replenishing the aquifer as well as mitigating the potential of land subsidence and disasters. The infiltration well is a collaboration between Danone Indonesia and Bali Watershed Forum (Forum Koordinasi Pengelolaan DAS Provinsi Bali), and Kopernik.

The visit then continued to their bird conservation in Bonkasa Pertiwi. The conservation protects the Bali Starlings (Jalak Bali) as an endangered species and supports the local communities to cultivate Kela-kela honey in the village. These efforts were made to preserve the ecosystem and maintain the quality and quantity of water.

EuroCham Indonesia would like to once again thank our platinum member, Danone Indonesia, for hosting the company visit. Special thanks to Karyanto Wibowo (Director of Sustainable Development) and the Danone team for organizing the day. We hope to see more collaboration in the future!
