EuroCham Exclusive IEU CEPA Briefing with Filip Deraedt

Published on 20 March 2023

EuroCham held an exclusive briefing for its Gold and Platinum members featuring Filip Deraedt, the EU's chief negotiator for the Indonesia EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA), on 14th February in Jakarta. He shared his observations on the results of the most recent round of negotiations between Indonesia and the EU, which recently took place in Bali.

Presided by the Chairman of EuroCham, Francois de Maricourt, the briefing highlighted the importance of the talks, as it was the first offline talks since 2019 and serves as a good start to progress forward. The briefing also emphasized the significance of the Free Trade Agreement for both European and Indonesian businesses, as well as the importance of continuous support from both sides. The briefing was followed with a question-and-answer session by audience members who represented significant European companies and chambers of commerce working in Indonesia.

EuroCham would like to thank all the participants that attended this morning’s briefing. We look forward to further support efforts aimed at promoting closer commercial ties between Indonesia and Europe through the IEU-CEPA.
