EuroCham - SEA IP SME Helpdesk Event on IP Enforcement

On March 21st, EuroCham Indonesia, in collaboration with South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, held their seminar focusing on Indonesia’s patent law enforcement with the theme: Indonesia: Becoming a Leader in ASEAN Patent Jurisprudence and Boosting Business Confidence through a More Robust Enforcement. The event took place at the Pullman Hotel Jakarta in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both online and in person.

The event was opened by Seradesy S. (Chief Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer at L'Oréal Indonesia), representing on behalf of Junaid Murtaza (Board Patron of the ICTIP Working Group), which was followed by an introduction of the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, presented by Benoît Tardy, IP Business Advisor of the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk. The event then went into discussion with presentations by three distinguished speakers: The Hon. Dr. Rahmi Mulyati (Honorable Judge of the Civil Law Chamber, Indonesian Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung Republik Indonesia)), Kin-Wah Chow (Principal at Rouse Indonesia), and Anindito (Informatics Department Lecturer of Indonesia Defense University). The discussion was moderated by Tania Lovita (Principal and Head of Dispute Resolution Team at Rouse Indonesia). The event was concluded with a closing remark from Minn Tun (Head of the ICTIP Working Group and CEO of Bhumi Varta Technology).

The seminar encompassed various topics, including the role of the judicial system in patent law enforcement, supreme court jurisprudence on intellectual property, comparative analysis of patent laws across Southeast Asian countries, and the IP challenges and opportunities for EU businesses.
