EuroCham - SEA IP SME Helpdesk Webinar on AI

On February 11, 2025, the Information and Communications Technology & Intellectual Property (ICTIP) Working Group of EuroCham Indonesia, in collaboration with the South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, hosted a webinar on "Artificial Intelligence and Innovation: Harmonizing Global and Local Perspectives." The event explored AI policy, implementation, newly emerging intellectual property (IP) challenges, and the societal impacts of AI-driven innovation.

The webinar was opened by the Head of the ICTIP Working Group, Jørgen Enger Fjellin (Managing Director of Baezeni Indonesia). The keynote addresses, delivered by Boni Pudjianto (Head of the Agency for Human Resources Development, Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs) and Sander Happaerts (Green and Digital Adviser at the EU Delegation to Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, and ASEAN), provided insights into the development and utilization of AI policies in Indonesia and the EU, respectively.

Moderated by Kin-Wah Chow (Deputy Head of the ICTIP Working Group; Principal at Rouse), the panel discussion explored practical applications of AI in business and its societal impacts. It also addressed the implications of AI for intellectual property rights, featuring expert panelists Wahyudi Djafar (Executive Director of ELSAM), Dr. Guan Tien Tan (Business Vice President of Digital Solutions at Schneider Electric), and Nick Redfearn (IP Expert, SEA IP SME Helpdesk; Global Enforcement Head at Rouse).
