About the Forum
After parting from the Finance Working Group, the Human Resources (HR) became an independent Member Forum consisting of HR directors of European companies in Indonesia. Beginning of 2018 the Member Forum started to arrange the work plan and activities schedule for the next year, which involve discussions on and sharing of information related to HR issues.
Some of the issues discussed in 2017 were:
- Wages (adjustment, minimum wages, provincial wages).
- Salary outlook for 2017.
- Industrial relations.
For member's meetings, the group frequently invite guest speakers to share information such as salary trends for 2017 or the top job list 2017, but also how to interpret certain labour-related regulations in order to avoid differences of interpretation between company and regulator.
In November 2017 the HR Member Forum was one of EuroCham Indonesia's member forums included in the EU-Indonesia Business Dialogue (EIBD) breakout session. The session, a collaboration between EuroCham Indonesia and Apindo, took the theme of "Global Citizens: Movement of Natural Persons between the EU and Indonesia". The session focused on having a constructive dialogue with relevant Indonesian government agencies involved in regulating and controlling the presence of “foreign experts”. The event invited representatives from the Ministry of Manpower and the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as speakers for the session.
