Dissemination of the Minister of Trade Regulation on Post Border Trade Inspection and Supervision

On 18 August 2020, EuroCham was invited to a dissemination conducted by the Ministry of Trade prior to the implementation of the Minister of Trade Regulation No. 51 of 2020 on Post Border Trade Inspection and Supervision. Presenting the key provisions of the new regulation was Sihard Hadjopan Pohan (Director of Trade Compliance - Ministry of Trade). This regulation was issued on 28 May 2020 and has been effective 90 days following the issuance date on the last week of August 2020. According to the new regulation, the main changes are relates to the self-declaration requirement, which has been replaced by the obligation that importers are required to undergo post-border examinations wherein they are required to disclose any valid data within relevant import notification. EuroCham’s attendance was represented by members of the Import-Export Procedures, as well as the Transport and Logistics Working Groups.
