EuroCham Event on EU Forest Strategies - An Update on EU Policies for Prevention of Deforestation and Forest Degradation

Published on 9 June 2022

On 20 May, EuroCham Indonesia organized an event on EU Forest Strategies - an Update on EU Policies for Prevention of Deforestation and Forest Degradation. The event seeks to discuss and elaborate on the recent proposal by the European Commission for a regulation on deforestation-free products. The proposal aims to reduce deforestation by setting targets for commodities linked to a high risk of deforestation, such as palm oil, beef, soy, or coffee.

This substantive discussion featured Henriette Færgemann (First Counsellor - Environment, Climate Action, and ICT of the EU Delegation to Indonesia). This discussion was moderated by Edison Bako (Executive Director of EuroCham Indonesia) and the event provided Member Companies with access to information on the relevant EU Regulations that may likely impact their businesses.
