Limited Discussion regarding the European Green Deal Policy and Issues Related to Sustainable Products and Commodities

On 25 March 2022, EuroCham was invited to attend a limited hybrid discussion attended by a number of Business and Trade Associations and organized by the Directorate General for American and European Affairs of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The meeting discussed several upcoming environmental EU legislation and policies, specifically related to the European Green Deal Policy, Deforestation-Free Commodities (DFC), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and mandatory due diligence.  The active and fruitful discussion generated a number of valuable inputs and strategies on how to deal and perceive these upcoming environmental policies.  EuroCham was represented at the meeting by the Acting Chairman, Agus Ciputra, who stressed the importance to maintain an active and positive dialogue with the European Union.
