Proposal for Simplification of BPOM Import-Export Formalities

Following written submission of inputs to the National Agency of Food and Drug Control (BPOM), EuroCham continues the ongoing discussion with BPOM on simplification of import-export licenses and other formalities that must be acquired from BPOM. One of the simplification proposals offered by EuroCham is to provide an exemption from the requirements to undergo BPOM import formalities if the goods are non-commercially used or if the goods are for company internal development, such as for the purpose of research and testing, and will not be transferred to third party. The meeting on 20 October 2017 was chaired by Ms. Chairun Nissa as the Head of Food Certificate Sub Directorate of BPOM, and attended by few representatives from EuroCham Transport and Logistics Working Group, Import-Export Procedures Working Group, as well as representative from ASPERINDO. As a follow up of the meeting, EuroCham will maintain close communication with BPOM and support BPOM efforts in simplifying these formalities.
